Mario Bravo

Mario Bravo ( * June 27, 1882 in La Cocha, Tucumán, † March 17, 1944 in Buenos Aires ) was an Argentine writer.

Bravo studied law at the Universidad de Buenos Aires and was able to complete this successfully with his thesis on labor law. He was also an ardent supporter of a general right to strike for workers.

Convinced by his friendship with the writer Ricardo Jaimes Freyre, Bravo became a member of the Socialist Party of Argentina. Politically engaged, Bravo 1913 was elected MPs and this career peaked in the office of President of the Chamber of Deputies.

Bravos political comments were regularly read in various newspapers and magazines. He became famous for his column " Mirador " in the newspaper La Vanguardia; In 1939 he took over the management of this newspaper.

Reception

" En el Sucro " is the most significant Roman Mario Bravo. He wrote to him almost 25 years and dealt with in life and suffering of a simple worker in the sugar mills. Even as a journalist and politician Bravo always sat for improving the situation of ordinary workers a; even his political opponents paid him this respect.
