Mario MartÃnez (footballer)
Mario Roberto Martínez Hernández, Mario Martínez short, ( born July 30, 1989 in San Pedro Sula ) is a Honduran football player at the position of midfielder. He currently plays for RSC Anderlecht in the highest division in the Belgian soccer, the Jupiler League.
Career
Youth and club career
Martínez began his active career as a football player in 2001 at his hometown club Real CD España, after spending some years was previously unattached active. At the club from San Pedro Sula, he held until 2008, several youth teams and then came for the first team in the Liga Nacional de Fútbol de Honduras, the top division of the country for use. Internationally
Martínez is since 2008 a regular player of the Honduran U-20 national football team, qualifying this by the 3rd place in the CONCACAF U- 20 Championship in 2009 for the U- 20 World Cup Egypt 2009. Previously, he was already active in the U- 17 team of Honduras. To date, he scored five goals in eight competitive games and was there also one of the most responsible for the successful qualification for the World Cup.
In 2008, he took with the Honduran Olympic team (U -23) as the youngest player of his team in the qualifying tournament for the Olympic Games in 2008, and came to the tournament victory in the preliminary round game against Cuba as his sole use. For the finals in China Martínez was not taken in the 18- man squad.
