Mario Tanassi

Mario Tanassi ( born March 17, 1916 in Ururi; † 5 May 2007 ) was an Italian politician of the Partito Socialista Italiano Democratico.

Life

The late 1960s and in the 1970s he was repeatedly served as defense minister and finance minister in various government cabinets under the Prime Minister Emilio Colombo, Giulio Andreotti and Mariano Rumor. Tanassi was sentenced in 1979 Lockheed scandal of bribery by the Constitutional Court to a prison sentence, while his predecessor, Luigi Gui (DC) was acquitted.
