Marisa Abegg

Marisa Abegg ( born March 14, 1987 in Anchorage, Alaska) is a former American football player.

Career

Association

Abegg was gedrafted from the WPS FC Gold Pride participants prior to the 2009 season and completed in their first professional season six league games. The following year she went on to league rivals Washington Freedom, but for which they did not play. From 2011 to 2013 Abegg played for the D.C. United Women and the Gulf Coast Texans in the second-rate W-League or Women's Premier Soccer League.

On July 31, 2013, the last day before the end of the transfer window, announced the NWSL subscriber Washington Spirit to have taken Abegg under contract. The franchise was responding to the injury-related failure of several defensive players before the final games of the regular season.
