Markus Deibler

Markus Deibler ( born January 28, 1990 in Biberach an der Riss) is a German swimmer.

Career

Deiblers main routes are short freestyle distances and capable of stretching. He has made his Abitur at the Pestalozzi -Gymnasium Biberach in 2009 and 2010 studied industrial engineering at the HAW Hamburg since October. He joined in October 2009 from his hometown club TG Biberach ( Biberach Turngemeinde ) to Hamburg Swim Club.

Markus Deibler presented in the ages 16 to 18 to seven year of records, including five on the 200 - meter medley routes. In 2006 he won the German Junior Championships in the 200m individual medley title. The following year he won the title at the 100 - meter track as well as 4 x 100 meter freestyle at the European Youth Championships.

Since 2007 he also occurs successfully at senior level. At the German Championships he won the title over 200 meters individual medley and was second over 100 meters individual medley. He was also winner over 200m individual medley at the Southern German championship and first appeared also at European Championships. There he won a gold medal with the 4 x 50 meter medley relay. In 2008, he took again the title over 200 meters individual medley at the German championships and qualified so narrowly for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. There, however, he had little success and was eliminated already out in the flow.

The national and international breakthrough came in 2010 when he surprisingly Paul Biedermann beat over 200 meters freestyle at the German Short Course Championships in Wuppertal, and shortly thereafter both the 100 and the 200 meters individual medley won the Short Course European Championships in Eindhoven. Add to that the gold medal 50 meter medley relay and second place in the 4 x 50 meter freestyle relay came in the 4 x. A few weeks later, he won with a new German record silver medal in the 100 meters individual medley at the Short Course World Championships in Dubai.
