Marnie Mosiman

Marnie Mosiman ( born March 6, 1951 in Minneapolis, Minnesota ) is an American actress and singer.

Life

Mosiman grew up in Minneapolis. She comes from a musical family, received early singing lessons and attended the Children's Theatre School. After graduating from high school she attended Principia College in Elsah Arts, Illinois.

Mosiman joined initially as a theater actress. In 1979 she played at the Seattle Repertory Company in the comedy " Heartbreak House " ( Heartbreak House) by George Bernard Shaw. In 1983, she joined the Los Angeles Stage Company on in the play Cloud Nine by Caryl Churchill, for which she received the Los Angeles Drama Critics Award. In 1985, she was among the finalists in the singing competition of the Metropolitan Opera.

Mosiman took over in the course of their careers many leading roles, including the musicals and operas Godspell, Sweeney Todd, Così fan tutte and A Little Night Music by Stephen Sondheim, with whom she went on tour. At the Ravinia Festival she appeared as Madame Jourdain, together with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in a production of Le Bourgeois gentilhomme on. She sang and played the Olga Kromow in the operetta The Merry Widow at the Los Angeles Opera. She took over the role of Trina in the musical Falsettos by William Finn with a production of National Public Radio and Los Angeles Theatre Works. At the Aspen Music Festival, they played under the baton of David Zinman the title role of Joan of Arc in Honegger's oratorio Dramatic Joan of Arc au bûcher. With the Philadelphia Orchestra she sang the role of the witch of Endor in Honegger's oratorio Le Roi David, conducted by Charles Dutoit.

Mosiman had guest appearances in several films and television series. Among other things, in Ally McBeal, Beverly Hills 90210 and Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Mosiman is a member of the " Los Angeles Master Chorale ." For this choir she designed the program Voices Within. Mosiman also works as a singing teacher and vocal coach, among other things, the " Hawaii Performing Arts Festival ".

Mosiman is married to John de Lancie. The two together have the sons Keegan and Owen de Lancie.
