Marsel Ä°lhan

Marsel İlhan ( born June 11, 1987 in Samarkand, Uzbekistan) is a Turkish tennis player.

He has long been the No. 1 of his country and the first Turkish player who has reached the second round at Wimbledon, as well as at the U.S. Open and Australian Open and Roland Garros in the men's single. As the first Turkish player, he also won several Grand Slam tournaments.

Career

Childhood and the first years

Ilhan was born in 1987 in Uzbekistan, emigrated with his mother in 2004 from Turkey and started playing for the Taçspor tennis club of Istanbul. He was sponsored by Kia Motors Turkey. Breakthrough in 2008
