Martin Crewes
Martin Crewes ( born 1968 in Barnet, London) is an Australian actor.
Life and career
Martin Crewes was born in Barnet, a district of London, England. His father, who was born in New Zealand, and his mother are also actors and have already participated in many stage plays in the UK and Australia. At the age of ten he moved with his parents to Australia. There he attended the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts in Perth, which he in 1990 with a Bachelor of Arts in graduated musicals. After graduating, he received roles as Lt. Joe Cable in South Pacific, Marius in Les Misérables, Claud in Hair and Chino in West Side Story. He had more musical performances in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, The Wizard of Oz and Aspects of Love.
He had in 1992 in three episodes of the award-winning Australian soap opera Neighbours as Dennis Parsons His first television role. In 1993 he received a guest appearance in the sixth episode of the opening season of the sitcom Newlyweds - The newlyweds. A year later he returned to eight episodes back to neighbors, but played the role of Chip Kelly. His next role he played from 1998 to 2000 in the British drama series Dream Team. In the meantime, he also had two cameo appearances in Bad Girls. In 2002 Crewes made his film debut in the role of Chad Kaplan in Resident Evil. This was followed by a starring role in the TV movie The Crusaders 9 - The Holy Rita and a role as a butler in DOA: Dead or Alive. From September 2004 to July 2005, he returned to the West End production The Woman in White in the role of Walter Hart Right back to the theater. In 2008 he had a brief guest appearance in the series Casualty. Since 2011 he has been a recurring supporting role in the Australian dramedy television series Crownies.
