Martin Kargl

Martin Kargl (* December 30, 1912, † May 20, 1946 ) was an Austrian football player. The defender won with Austrian amateur team at the Olympic Games in Berlin in 1936 the silver medal.

Career

Martin Kargl was an amateur at SC Cyrus Vienna in the III. League. From coach Jimmy Hogan, he was surprisingly taken in 1936 for the Olympic Games to Berlin, although he had until then not played a game for the Austrian amateur national. Together with Ernst Künz from FC Lustenau 07 he placed in all four games in Berlin, the Austrian defense and culminated with the team the Olympic final, which was lost 1:2 in the change in Italy. Since Martin Kargl but in the same year succeeded with his club promotion to Division II, he was uninteresting to professional players and thus for the amateur national team.
