Martin Lejsal

Martin Lejsal ( born September 16, 1982 in Kyjov, Czechoslovakia) is a Czech football player.

Career

Martin Lejsal played in his youth for the FC Vracov and Baník Ratíškovice. In 1995, the goalkeeper to Svit Zlín. During the season 1999/2000 he came to his first appearances in the first team. Lejsal convinced and was in the following season goalkeeper.

In September 2001 Lejsal was committed by the Italian first division side Reggina Calcio. Although Lejsal sat in Reggio on the bench, he played for the Czech Under-21 team. In early 2004 he was loaned to Slovan Liberec, for which he, however, only two games completed.

In the season 2004/ 05 he played on loan at the then second division side AC Venice and became embroiled in the end of the season in a corruption scandal. In last season's game Genoa in 1893 won against AC Venice 3-2, the victory was purchased with 250,000 euros. Lejsal was to be accused of involvement in corruption. He protested his innocence, but was suspended for five months. Prior to Lejsal had agreed to a move to AC Padua, for which he was now not eligible to play for half a year.

In January 2006 he dissolved his contract valid until 2008 with Reggina Calcio and transferred to 1 FC Brno, where he is the undisputed number one in goal.

On 15 November 2006 he was appointed for the first time in the Czech national team, but the 1-1 draw against Denmark he was only a substitute.

After three years in Brno Lejsal moved in summer 2009 to the Dutch Ehrendivisionär SC Heerenveen. After a year in the Netherlands Lejsal returned in the summer of 2010 back to Brno, where the goalkeeper still had a contract until the end of the year. In early 2011 joined the Czech free transfer to the Russian first division side FK Rostov.
