Mary Mulligan

Mary Mulligan ( born February 12, 1960 in Liverpool) is a Scottish politician and member of the Scottish Labour Party. Between 1999 and 2011, Mulligan was a member of the Scottish Parliament.

Life

Mulligan studied at Manchester University and obtained a Bachelor in Economics and Social Sciences. From 1988 to 1999 Mulligan was represented in the Edinburgh City Council. For the Scottish Parliament elections in 1999, she joined as a direct candidate of the Labour Party for the constituency of Linlithgow and won the vote with nearly 3,000 votes ahead of the candidate of the Scottish National Party. In the parliamentary elections in 2003 and 2007 Mulligan defended its mandate, but was defeated in the 2011 parliamentary elections the candidate of the Scottish National Party Fiona Hyslop.

Mulligan is married and has three children.
