Masakazu Fujiwara

Masakazu Fujiwara (Japanese藤原 正 和, Masakazu Fujiwara, born March 6, 1981) is a Japanese long- distance runner who specializes in road races.

In 2001 he won at the Universiade gold medal in the half marathon. The following year he was third in the Lake Biwa Marathon in 2:08:12 hours until today ( 2010) the fastest debut of a Japanese over this distance.

As a result, he had always struggled with injuries, which he attributes in retrospect to overtraining.

He was second in the Ōme Marathon over 30 km in 2005, 2008, he was ninth at the Lake Biwa Marathon in 2:12:07.

In 2010 he went for the third time over the 42,195 -km distance at the start and won the Tokyo Marathon in adverse weather conditions in 2:12:19 h

Masakazu Fujiwara comes from Ōkawachi (now belonging to Kamikawa ) in Hyōgo Prefecture and is a graduate of Chuo University. He starts for the team of the company Honda.
