Masaki Kano

Masaki Kano (Japanese加纳 政 树, Kano Masaki, born February 4, 1976 in Hyōgo Prefecture ) is a Japanese racing driver. From 2008 to 2011 he took part in various races of the World Touring Car Championship ( WTCC).

Career

Kano began his motorsport career in 1991 in karting, where he was active until 1994. In 1995 he took part in France at the Winfield Racing School.

Since 2006 he has been active in touring car racing. He was ninth Japanese Super Taikyu Series this year. In 2007, he improved in this series up to third place. In addition Kanō was this season runner-up of the Asian Touring Car Championship. In 2008, he remained in the Asian Touring Car Championship and finished the season on top of the third in the drivers' standings.

From 2008 to 2011 took Kanō for Engstler Motorsport annually attend at least one event in the World Touring Car Championship ( WTCC). Only in his debut season, he took up to two race weekends. A twelfth place was his best individual placing.

Kanō is married and has two daughters.
