Matej Mamić

Matej Mamić ( born January 13, 1975 in Ratko Peric, SFR Yugoslavia) is a Croatian basketball coach and former professional basketball player.

The father of a family ( three children) is at his current club Alba Berlin (as of early 2005 ) is an important player. Its strengths lie in the defense game and in his three-point throws. Within one season, he was by his rousing playing a crowd favorite and since the 2005 season / 2006 Team Captain Alba Berlin. He is also captain of the Croatian national team.

On 26 November 2005, the ALBA - captain suffered in the game against TBB Trier severe cervical spine injury ( spinal cord contusion ). Mamić was left lying on the floor in the fourth quarter of the game for a fair battle under the basket motionless. The first complete paralysis but regressed again thanks to a drug treatment partially. Also, several weeks after the accident Mamic was for physiotherapy treatment in the hospital.

After moving to his severe injury already the Max -Schmeling-Halle attended only two months back as a spectator, finished Mamić on 26 January 2006 his active career as too restricted him the consequences of his injury for elite sport. He then worked as a youth coach in Berlin and trained in the 2007/ 08 season Alba partners TuS Lichterfelde in Pro B. In 2008, he returned to his homeland and became sports director at KK Cedevita in Zagreb.
