Mathias Fischer

Mathias Fischer ( born July 30, 1971 in Koźle ) is a basketball player and coach.

Life

After graduating from high school in Bonn Fischer completed a graduate degree at the German Sport University in Cologne, which he added in 2003 to 2005 to study at the trainer academy, graduating with a state-recognized diploma 's basketball coach.

Athletic Performance

As a player, the 1.88-meter fishing was used on the positions playmaker or shooting guard, among other things, he played together with Arvid Kramer and Eric Taylor at the Telekom Baskets Bonn in the second division team.

His coaching career began fishing at Fortuna Bonn and the Bonn BG Rentrop as an assistant women's second division team alongside head coach Anna Stamberger. After that, he was an assistant coach for the men's second division TV Rhöndorf. At the federal level, he was an assistant coach for the seasons 2000-2001 and 2002-2003 for the German U20 national team and from 2001 to 2002 and from 2003 to 2004 with the A2 National Team. In the National Basketball League, he assisted in the 2003/2004 season at Brandt Hagen and 2004/2005 the team of the Rhein Energie Cologne. The first time as head coach, Fischer was employed in the 2006/2007 season as coach of Luxembourg and won with his team to second place at the "Play of the small countries ." In the season 2007/2008 he coached the Black Star Mersch of Luxembourg, 2008/2009, Kelag Wörthersee pirates Klagenfurt in the Austrian Admiral Basketball League ( ABL). On June 5, Fischer was, however, obliged as the new coach of the Telekom Baskets Bonn, so he gave up the coaching job in the A2 National Team, to devote himself fully to his new job.

Awards

2010 and 2012 Mathias Fischer was elected to Austria for basketball coach of the year.
