Matías Lequi

Matías Emanuel Lequi (born 13 May 1981 in Rosario ) is an Argentine footballer who also has Italian citizenship.

Playing career

His career as a football player began Matías Lequi in Argentina during his youth club Rosario Central, where he spent his first two professional years. After he consistently demonstrated attractive benefits in 2001 he moved to Argentina top team River Plate Buenos Aires. Again, he was able to prevail and prosper. As usual in modern football the European top clubs were quickly aware of Matías Lequi and he moved to Atlético Madrid. In his first season he was there, but not happy, so he went to the Serie A Lazio. After an outstanding season in central defense Laziali he returned to Spain, where he spent three years working for Celta de Vigo gates prevented ( 2005-2008). Due to financial problems at Celta his contract was terminated in July 2008.
