Matt Halliday

Matthew " Matt" Halliday (born 14 July 1979, Auckland ) is a New Zealand racing driver.

Career

Halliday began his motorsport career in 1985 in karting, where he was active until 1997. In 1998 he moved to Formula racing and was fourth in the New Zealand Formula Ford 1999, he moved into Formula Holden and stayed for two years in this championship. Both seasons, he finished in third place in the drivers' standings. After he was again taken up in the New Zealand Formula Ford, he moved to North America in 2001 and competed in the Indy Lights. With two podium finishes, he finished his first season in sixth place overall. In addition, he went to a race in the Atlantic Championship. In 2002 he received no cockpit for a full season and took only two races in the Indy Lights, which had been renamed for this season in IRL Infinity Pro Series, part. He finished in 17th place overall.

2012 Halliday went for the curated by Mühlner Exim Bank Team China a Porsche 997 GT3 R in the FIA ​​GT1 World Championship.
