Matt Letley

Matthew Letley ( born March 29, 1961 in Gillingham, Kent, United Kingdom ) is a British drummer and long-time member of the rock band Status Quo.

Life

Letley was born in 1961 in Gillingham. At the age of six he started playing drums. At age 12, he played in his first band " Sindelfingen ". After several years as a drummer in various bands Gala and the "London Youth Jazz Orchestra" he came 1978 on the band " Flint " and signed his first record deal. After five years, two albums and countless performances, he left the band in order henceforth to work independently as a studio and live drummer. He toured with, among others, Kim Wilde, Bob Geldof, A- ha, David Essex, Vanessa Mae and Hank Marvin.

Since 2000, Matt Letley played as a permanent member in the status quo. On 17 December 2012, he was known, however, that he will leave the band.
