Matt Taylor (American soccer)

Matthew " Matt" Taylor ( born October 17, 1981 in Columbus, Ohio) is an American football player at the position of a striker.

Career

Taylor played three years of football at UCLA and won with his team the national college championships over the period. After college, he played with the Orange County Blue Stars - there he was in 2003 for eight games of the strike partner of Jürgen Klinsmann, who once again there was a small interlude after end of his career under the pseudonym Jay Goppingen.

In Major League Soccer, he made his debut with the Kansas City Wizards. A season later he moved to the CD Chivas USA and was the first player of the week. In the season 2011/12 he came to a total of 23 inserts for the SCP, in which he scored four goals.

30 May 2012 it was announced that Taylor changes in exchange with Massimo Ornatelli from SC Paderborn in the 3rd League to Preußen Münster. Playing in the first round of the DFB - Cup 2012/13 Taylor reach three goals against Bundesliga side Werder Bremen, Preußen Münster defeated 4-2 after extra time.

Taylor was honored by the Sports Federation of Münster at the Ball des Sports in 2012 as an athlete of the year.
