Matthew of Aquasparta

Matteo d' Acqua Sparta ( also Matthew de Acqua Sparta ) OFM (c. 1240 Acqua Sparta (Umbria ), † October 28, 1302 in Rome ) was a Cardinal of the Catholic Church and twelfth Superior General of the Franciscans.

Pope Nicholas IV raised him on May 16, 1288 Cardinal of San Lorenzo in Damaso. He was also Bishop of Porto 1292-1302. He is buried in the church of Santa Maria in Aracoeli.
