Maura Tierney

Maura Lynn Tierney ( born February 3, 1965 in Boston, Massachusetts ) is an American actress. In Germany it was mainly for her role as Dr. Abigail " Abby " Lockhart in the medical drama ER - Emergency Room and the U.S. sitcom NewsRadio known.

Tierney's parents are Pat and Joseph Tierney, a former Boston politician. She has two younger siblings.

In 1994 she married the producer and cameraman Billy Morrissette and lived with him in New York and Los Angeles. Children are not resulting from this marriage. After 13 years of marriage Tierney filed in July 2006 for divorce.

Maura Tierney was scheduled for a starring role in the series Parenthood, but could not because of breast cancer do not accept this offer. In October 2009 it was announced that Lauren Graham will replace them in the series.
