Max Joseph Oertel

Max Joseph Oertel ( born March 20, 1835 in Dillingen an der Donau, † July 17, 1897 in Munich) was a German physician, laryngologist and Otolaryngologe.

He made 1856 on Wilhelmsgymnasium Munich High School and then studied medicine at the University of Munich.

Oertel in 1876 associate professor in Munich and is mainly known for a Kurmethode against obesity, especially in cardiac involvement. This treatment was initially performed to a great extent by Ernst Schweinger and was therefore erroneously called " Schweningerkur ". Oertel published the findings underlying the cure to reason in the treatment of circulatory disorders (1884 ).
