Max Théon

Max Theon (* 1848, † March 4, 1927 in Tlemcen, probably born Louis- Maximilian pumice stone, also known as Aia Aziz ) was a Polish kabbalist and occultist.

Life

As a young man he founded in London in 1870, the Hermetic Brotherhood of Luxor, but probably has relatively little personally to the actual daily operation and to the information in the Society contributed ( Chanel et al, Hermetic Brotherhood of Luxor ).

There is debate about whether and how much Theon Helena Blavatsky taught; Mira Alfassa wrote in the agenda that he had taught them while R. Paul Johnson, The Masters Revealed writes that the Mahatma Tuitit Bey was in reality Max Theon.

1885 married Mary Theon Chrystine Woodroffe Ware ( Alma Theon ). The following year, the couple then moved to Paris. In December 1887, the Theon left France towards Algiers, where to indulge joined them later Alma Theon's girlfriend Augusta Roife (Miss Teresa ). They bought a large estate in Zarif, a suburb of Tlemcen in Algeria. In Algeria, he got as a healer of the locals nicknamed Aia Aziz, whom he related as director of the Revue Cosmique. Theon went from there regularly when traveling to Paris.

Max Theon gathered some students together. With Louis Themanlys and Charles Barlet, he founded the Cosmic movement. This was based on material, which he called "Cosmic Tradition", received or channeled through Theon's wife. They founded a journal, the Revue Cosmique, for the study and the re - establishment of the original tradition, in which Theon was the Director under the pseudonym second - Aia Aziz. Theon stated that his wife had been the intellectual focal point and that without it, the tradition and the Cosmic philosophy would never have appeared.

Louis was a friend of Matteo Alfassa, the brother of Mirra Alfassa (later teamed up with Sri Aurobindo and The Mother was ). 1905 or 1906 Mirra traveled to Tlemcen to study occultism at Theon ( Sujata Nahar, Mirra the Occultist ).

The death of his wife in 1908 was a severe blow for Theon, from which he never recovered properly. He fell into a deep depression and dissolved the Cosmic movement. During this time he was cared for by his followers. He recovered somewhat, but never reached its previous state. Theon died in Tlemcen on March 4, 1927.

The Revue Cosmique was continued by Pascal Themanlys, the son of Max Theon students Themanlys Louis, a French (later Israeli ) poets, Zionists and Kabbalists.
