Max Verworn

Max Verworn (* November 4, 1863 in Berlin, † November 23, 1921 in Bonn ) was a German physiologist.

Life and work

Max Verworn 1895 Associate Professor of Physiology in Jena, in 1901 a full professor in Göttingen and after 1910 professor in Bonn. Verworn dealt with the moving cells and thus also with the physiology of unicellular organisms. Also the function of nerve cells has been the subject of Verworn research. It also addressed with prehistoric archeology and gave along with Gustav Steinmann and Robert Bonnet several fonts to double grave of Oberkassel out.

He created in 1902 the Journal of General Physiology and edited from 1910 to 1918 Pflügers Archive for the whole physiology.
