Robert Bonnet (physician)

Robert Charles Edward Bonnet ( born February 17, 1851 in Augsburg, † October 13, 1921 in Würzburg ) was a German anatomist.

Life

Bonnet studied in Munich and Göttingen. In 1876 he received his doctorate in Munich. From 1878 to 1880 he was prosector. In 1880 he became an assistant at the Anatomical Institute in Munich. In this he qualified also. In 1881 he was appointed professor at the Royal Central Veterinary School in Munich.

In 1889 he became an associate professor at the University of Munich, and in 1891 he moved to the University of Giessen as professor of anatomy and director of the Anatomical Institute. In 1895 he became a professor at the University of Greifswald and 1907 at the University of Bonn.

Bonnet was co-editor from 1892 the results of the anatomy and developmental history as well as the anatomical books by Friedrich Sigmund Merkel and Bonnet.

Bonnet was a member of the Corps Suevia Munich ( 1871) and Brunsviga Göttingen ( 1872).
