Maxim Shuvalov

Maxim Shuvalov Alekseyevich (Russian Максим Алексеевич Шувалов; born 23 April 1993 Rybinsk; † 7 September 2011 in Tunoschna near Yaroslavl ) was a Russian ice hockey player, who was during his career at Lokomotiv Yaroslavl of the Kontinental Hockey League contract. In the U18 World Youth Championship 2011, he won the bronze medal with the Russian national team.

Career

Shuvalov played during his junior time at the club of his birthplace, the HK Rybinsk. In KHL Junior Draft 2010, he was selected in the second round, the 38th of Lokomotiv Yaroslavl. This put him in the 2010/11 season in the league Molodjoschnaja Chokkeinaja in their offspring Club Loko Yaroslavl one. In 51 games this season, where he scored one goal and prepared five more before. In the playoffs, he played three more games. To kick off the 2011/12 season of the Kontinental Hockey League, he belonged to the extended squad of Lokomotiv Yaroslavl.

On September 7, 2011, he died in a plane crash near Yaroslavl killed. The team of Yaroslavl was on the way to the first season game at HK Dinamo Minsk.

Internationally

Shuvalov played with the Russian national team at the U18 Junior World Cup 2011 in Germany. He played seven games in which he received four penalty minutes. After a defeat against Sweden in the semi-finals and a win against Canada in the match for third place with the team he won the bronze medal.
