2011 IIHF World U18 Championships
The 13th Ice Hockey World Championships U18 Juniors of the International Ice Hockey Federation IIHF Ice Hockey World Championships in 2011 in the age group of under- eighteen year olds ( U18). In total, between March 19 and April 24, 2011 42 teams in the seven tournaments in the top division and the divisions I to III part.
The world champion was the sixth time the crew of the United States, which could defeat as in the previous year in the final of Sweden 4-3 after extra time. Top Division
The U18 World Championship Top Division was held in Germany from 14 to 24 April 2011. The games took place in the Saxon cities Crimmitschau and Dresden.
At the tournament was attended ten national teams who played in two groups of five teams.
Mode
After the group matches of the preliminary round, the two group winners qualify directly for the semi-finals. The runners-up and third - ever deny a qualifier for the semi-finals. The Fourth and Fifth of the group will contest - if you bring the result of the direct encounter of the first round - the relegation round and thereby determine two relegated to Division I.

A group in Riga, Latvia
From 11 to 17 April 2011 was held in the Latvian capital Riga, the tournament in Group A in the Division I instead. The matches were played in the Arēna Riga with 10,300 seats. Japan said the participation in the Division I as a result of the Tōhoku earthquake and its immediate aftermath.
Group B in Maribor, Slovenia
The tournament of Group B in the Division I was held from 10 to 16 April, 2011 Maribor, Slovenia. All games took place in the Dvorana Tabor, which can accommodate 3,000 spectators.
