2010 IIHF World U18 Championships

The 12th Ice Hockey World Championships U18 Juniors of the International Ice Hockey Federation IIHF Ice Hockey World Championships were in 2010 in the age group of under- eighteen year olds ( U18). In total, between 18 March and 23 April, 2010 44 teams in the seven tournaments in the top division and the divisions I to III part.

The world champion was the fifth time the crew of the United States who could beat Sweden in the final 3-1. Top Division

The U18 World Cup was held to 23 April 2010 in Minsk Sports Palace in Minsk and Bobruisk in the Bobruisk Arena in Belarus of 13. The final was played in Minsk - Arena, which served as the venue for a game just for this.

It was attended by ten teams that played in two groups of five teams. The world champion secured the United States, who won just in the final with a 3-1 win against Sweden. It was the fifth title for the Americans.

Mode

Division I

Group A in Herning, Denmark

The tournament Group A in the Division I held from 12 to 18 April 2010 in Herning, Denmark. The matches were played in the KVIK hockey arena which has 4,105 seats.

Group B in Krynica -Zdrój, Poland

In the Polish Krynica -Zdrój was held from 11 to 17 April 2010, the Tournament of Group B in the Division I instead. All matches were played in Hala Widowiskowo Sportowa that offers 3,000 spectators.

Because of the plane crash near Smolensk in which a total of 96 people were killed, including Polish President Lech Kaczynski and other senior Polish politicians, decided the Polish Ice Hockey Federation that all games are played without spectators.

Division II

Group A in Narva, Estonia

The group A of Division II was fought in Narva in Estonia from 13 to 19 March 2010. The games were held with 1,500 seats in the Narva Jäähall.

Group B in Kiev, Ukraine

The tournament of Group B in the Division II took place from 22 to 28 March 2010 in the Kiev region in Ukraine. Venue of all games was the arena Terminal Brovary with about 2,000 places.

Group A in Erzurum, Turkey

From 8 to 14 March 2010 the tournament in Group A in the Division III took place in Turkey in Erzurum. The Games were held in Erzurum GSim.

Group B in Monterrey, Mexico

In the Mexican city of Monterrey, the tournament in Group B was played in Division III of 14 until March 20, 2010. All matches were played in the Ice Complex, which can accommodate 1,500 spectators.
