Marcel Noebels

Marcel Noebels (born 14 March 1992 Tönisvorst ) is a German professional ice hockey player who is since July 2011 the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League under contract and currently plays for their farm team, the Adirondack Phantoms in the American Hockey League.

Career

Marcel Noebels started his career as a hockey player in the junior department of the Krefeld EV, for which he was active until 2006. Subsequently, the Center spent a year at the U16 Junior Polar Bears Juniors Berlin, before he was two seasons for the young Adler Mannheim in the German junior league on the ice. With this he won the 2008 and 2009 German junior champion.

For the 2009/10 season Noebels returned to Krefeld, where he played in parallel for the U18 juniors in the DNL and for the first team in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga. In his rookie year in the DEL the junior national team scored a goal in 33 games and had two assists. For the season 2010/11 he moved to the Seattle Thunderbirds of the North American junior Western Hockey League. NHL Entry Draft 2011, he was selected in the fourth round at 118th position from the Philadelphia Flyers.

In July 2011, Noebels signed an entry-level three-year contract with the Flyers. First, he changed during season 2011/12 but within the WHL Portland Winter Hawks to and culminated with the team in the play- offs, the final series to the Ed Chynoweth Cup. There, however, the Winter Hawks were frustrated by the Edmonton Oil Kings. With 23 scorer points from 22 games Noebels here was the third best scorer of the WHL playoffs.

The 2012/13 season began with the German Trenton Titans, a farm team of the Philadelphia Flyers in the ECHL and was promoted after 30 scorer points in 31 games with the Adirondack Phantoms in the American Hockey League.

Internationally

For Germany, Noebels participated in the U18 Junior World Championship 2009, as well as the U18 Junior B World Cup, 2010. For the latter, with his crew, he managed to re- direct promotion to the top division. With nine goals and ten templates in five games he had decisive as top scorer, assist provider and scorer of Group B share in the success.

At the World Cup in 2013 Noebels was first appointed to the cadre of men's national team, stayed in three stakes, however, point by point and with impunity.
