Jacob Trouba

Jacob trouba (born 26 February 1994 in Rochester, Michigan ) is an American professional ice hockey player on the position of the defender. He is since April 2013 in the Winnipeg Jets of the National Hockey League contract.

Career

Trouba began his career as a hockey player in Detroit, where he played for the junior team Detroit Compuware. For the 2010/11 season the defender was invited to the U.S. National Team Development Program and completed 31 games in his debut season for the team in the United States Hockey League. In the following season he was with 18 points from 22 games the top scoring defender of his team.

In the NHL Entry Draft 2012 trouba was considered one of the most promising talents, and was led in the rankings of the International Scouting Services to rank five of all available players. He was eventually selected by the Winnipeg Jets in the first round in ninth position. For the season 2012/13 he moved to the University of Minnesota and went on for the ice hockey team in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association. There, he scored in his first season, 29 points in 37 games. Trouba was then called into the All- Rookie team and the first All-Star team of the CCHA, as well as the best offensive defender Division awarded. Finally, he was selected by the NCAA as the only freshman and the All-American team.
