Devin Setoguchi

Devin Setoguchi ( born January 1, 1987 in Taber, Alberta ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player in the position of right winger who stands since July 2013 at the Winnipeg Jets of the National Hockey League contract.

Career

Setoguchi first played in the 2002/03 season in the Alberta Junior Hockey League in the Crowsnest Pass Timberwolves. After the season he moved to the Saskatoon Blades in the Western Hockey League. There he played a total of three seasons and took in this time with the Canadian national team at the U18 World Junior Championships 2005 part. He won the silver medal. In addition, he was selected eighth in the summer by the San Jose Sharks in the NHL Entry Draft in the first round. For the season 2006/ 07 he moved within the WHL with the Prince George Cougars, where he worked with Ty Wishart, another first-round pick of the Sharks, played together.

After the training camp of the San Jose Sharks in the fall of 2007, the team leader was able to convince with his performances, among other things, he led the entire league in the preseason games after power play goals and shots on goal where he managed the start of the NHL season to jump into the squad San Jose. Due to a foot injury that initially put him out of action, he played for the time being no NHL game, but was sent to the farm team for the Worcester Sharks of the American Hockey League. During his NHL debut on 29 October 2007 Setoguchi scored the first player in franchise history of the San Jose Sharks two hits in his first game, including both the interim compensation and the game-deciding winner. Since Setoguchis services has greatly fluctuated, he commuted in his rookie season again and again between the farm team squad in the AHL and the NHL squad. For the 2008/09 season he won under the new coach of the San Jose Sharks, Todd McLellan, finally a regular place. In much more offensive game system McLellans compared to the previous Ron Wilson, the Canadians added a well and scored in the first 17 games of the season as many points as in the 44 disputed games the previous season.

On 24 June 2011, the Sharks gave him along with Charlie Coyle and a first-round vote in the NHL Entry Draft in 2011 in exchange for Brent Burns and a second-round vote in the NHL Entry Draft in 2012 to the Minnesota Wild from. The day before, the Sharks had extended the contract Setoguchis until about three years. In July 2013 he was transferred in exchange for a second-round vote in the NHL Entry Draft in 2014 to the Winnipeg Jets.
