Mayu Hamada

Mayu Hamada (Japanese滨 田 真 由, Mayu Hamada, born January 31, 1994 in Saga Prefecture ) is a Japanese Taekwondoin. It starts in the weight class up to 57 kg.

Hamada trained under Tsuyoshi Koga, Kurume. Her first international title fights they played at the Junior Asia Cup in Kish, where she won in the category up to 49 kg bronze. The following year she won also in Tijuana bronze at the Junior World Championship. Hamada debuted at the 2011 World Championships in Gyeongju in the adult area. However, she left in the class up to 53 kg against Caroline Fisher from an early stage. In the Asia Cup 2012 in Ho Chi Minh City it was the semi-finals bronze and thus win their first international medal in the adult area. In the category up to 57 kg Hamada won the Asian Olympic qualifying tournament in Bangkok in the decisive battle for third place and qualified for the 2012 Olympic Games in London. There she was defeated Marlène Harnois in the fight for the bronze medal.
