Mazıdağı (formerly Samrah, Kurdish Şemrex ) is a city and the name of a district in the Turkish province of Mardin in southeastern Anatolia. The city has Mazıdağı 10,436 and the county 33,184 inhabitants ( 2010). Mazıdağı is located in the north of the province, bordering the province of Diyarbakir.

The name Mazıdağı translated means Mountain of the trees of life. This is referred to the abundant presence of the tree of life, a cypress crop in the region.
