The Mehe and its confluence with the Oste to the pumping station

The 18.9 km long Mehe is a left tributary of the Oste in Lower Saxony. He is above the national road 495 and is used among other things for the Canoeing. The source is located at the road bridge Großenhain / Ebersdorf, the mouth of the Oste is Brobergen where also is the built in 1956 Mehe - pumping station.

Between Dornsode and Alfstedt flows from the right to Westerbek. Other tributaries are the pelvic wall between Alfstedt and Mehedorf and Hollener mill creek between Hollen and the north end of the east village.

The Mehe had Geestequelle meaning that illustrates the watershed between Weser and Elbe in a river symbolizing the choice of the crest of the velvet municipality. The resulting integrated municipality in the rivers Lune and Geestemünde flow into the Weser, the Mehe contrast to the Elbe.
