Melanie Robillard
Melanie Robillard ( born October 3, 1982 in Sussex, New Brunswick) is curler and currently lives in Brussels, Belgium.
Robillard, whose mother is German, is replacement player (Alternate ) of the German team at the Curling World Championships 2008 Canadian Vernon. In order to participate in the World Cup by Andrea Schoepp was possible because of their German mother obtained German citizenship. She studied law at the Free University of Brussels. In addition to their native languages English and German, she is fluent in French.
In 2005, she let herself be photographed nude for a calendar to promote the sport of curling women.
The Curling Championship 2009 in Aberdeen Robillard was as third on the team with skip Andrea Schoepp, second Monika Wagner, Lead Corinna Scholz, Stella Alternate hot and won the gold medal. The Round Robin had completed the team in third place. The Page playoff game they won against Russia and the semi-final against Denmark. In the final, they sat down 7-5 against Switzerland through.
In February 2010, Robillard took part in the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver (Canada) as a member of the German team. The team finished sixth.
Robillard won on 28 March 2010 with the German team led by Andrea Schoepp Skip the Curling World Championship. In the Canadian Swift Current, the German team defeated the team Scotland to Eve Muirhead Skip to 8:6 after extra end stones.
