Melčice-Lieskové

Melčice - Lieskové is a double community in northwestern Slovakia, with 1578 inhabitants ( 31 December 2011) and belongs to Okres Trenčín, Trenčín Region a part of.

Geography

The municipality is located in the south of the valley landscape Považské podolie below the White Carpathians. The nearly 21.6 km ² municipal area stretches from the sediments of the Waag on hill country to mountain Dúžniky (807 m nm). The center is located at an altitude of 205 m nm and is ten kilometers of Nové Mesto nad Váhom and 14 kilometers away from Trenčín.

Administratively divided the community into the church and parts Melčice Lieskové. In addition to these also existed the district Dolina, which consists largely of single settlements.

History

The municipality was established in 1975 by the merger of previously independent places Melčice (Hungarian Melcsic ) and Zemianske Lieskové (up to 1927 " Zemanské Lieskové "; Hungarian Nemesmogyoród - to 1907 Nemeslieszkó ). The former city Malé Žabokreky (Hungarian Vágzsámbokrét ) was incorporated in 1914 by Zemianske Lieskové.

Melčice was, however, only in 1478 was first mentioned in 1398 as Mylchycz, Lieskové as Lezkocz writing. 1828 are listed 43 houses and 335 inhabitants in 78 houses and 618 inhabitants Melčice in Lieskové.

Population
