The Melton Highway ( formerly Keilor - Melton Road ) is a link road west of Melbourne in the southern Australian state of Victoria. Be connecting the Western Freeway in Melton with the Calder Freeway in Keilor (Melbourne ).

Course

On the eastern edge of Melton of Melton Highway branches off to the north by the Western Highway ( NM8 ) and turns equal to the east. He crossed the Kororoit Creek and reached the southwest of the airport Calder Freeway ( M79 ).

In order to route the shortest route between Melbourne and Ballarat Airport on this road.

State of development and speed limits

The two-lane road is provided in several places with passing lanes. The bridge over the railway at Sydenham has been designed with four lanes.

In Melton, the speed limit is 80 km / h and then increases to 100 km / h From Sydenham the speed limit drops again, first to 90 km / h, 80 km / h and finally at 70 km / h as soon as the road passes through populated area.
