Menthonnex-sous-Clermont
Menthonnex -sous -Clermont is a town in the French department of Haute- Savoie department in the Rhône-Alpes region.
Geography
Menthonnex -sous -Clermont is located at 545 m above sea level. M., approximately 16 km west-northwest of the city of Annecy ( straight line ). The village stretches a scenic location on a sloping hillside above the valley to the south of the Morge, between the heights of Montagne des Princes in the west and Cret de Charmont in the East, the Genevois.
The area of 10.14 km ² municipal area includes a portion of the western Genevois. The area occupied by undulating relief of the hill between the valleys of Fier in the south and in the north Usses. It is drained to the Fier through the valley system of Morge south. To the north- east, the municipality area extends to the wooded hills of the Cret de Charmont, on 741 m above sea level. M. is achieved the highest elevation of Menthonnex -sous -Clermont.
To Menthonnex -sous -Clermont next to the village itself includes various hamlet settlements and farmsteads, including:
- Mionnaz (500 m above sea level. M. ) on the west side of the valley of the Morge
- La Côte (512 m above sea level. M. ) on the west side of the valley of the Morge
- Doucy ( 565 m above sea level. M. ) on the west side of the valley of the Morge

Neighboring communities of Menthonnex -sous -Clermont are Chilly in the north, Thusy in the east, the south and Versonnex Crempigny - Bonneguête and Clermont in the West.
History
Menthonnex -sous -Clermont is first documented in the early 15th century.
Attractions
The village church of Menthonnex -sous -Clermont was built in the style of classicism. In Mionnaz is a former castle, now used as a farm. Ruins of a former castle there are also at Foraz.
Population
With 640 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) Menthonnex -sous -Clermont is one of the small towns in the Haute-Savoie region. During the 19th and 20th centuries, the population steadily increased due to high levels of emigration from (1861 were still 931 residents counted in Menthonnex -sous -Clermont ). Since the early 1980s, however, an increase in population was recorded thanks to the beautiful residential area again.
Economy and infrastructure
Menthonnex -sous -Clermont is a predominantly coined by farming village today. There are also some plants of the local small business sector. Many working population commuters who engage in the larger towns in the area as well as in space Annecy their work.
The village is located off the major thoroughfares on a secondary road, leading from Mionnaz on the D910 by Chilly. Further road links exist with Clermont and Sillingy. The nearest links to the A41 motorway is located at a distance of around 20 km.
