Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class
Under the name CLK-Class coupes and convertibles in the middle class of Mercedes -Benz were offered.
Built to June 1997 was based on the previous model 124 series E-Class and was thus a vehicle of the upper middle class. The CLK, however, was based on the mid range of the C-Class and CLK was called (C Coupé, L for light, K for short ). The model has been adapted in the first generation outside the E-Class of the 210 series. The abbreviations L and K have already been introduced on the SLK ( Sport Leicht Kurz), and the larger SL (Super Light ).
Between 1997 and 2008, more than 700,000 vehicles were delivered.
The name CLK have worn two series:
- The Mercedes -Benz 208 Series: C 208 (1997-2002 ) and A 208 ( 1998-2003)
- The Mercedes -Benz 209 Series: C 209 ( 2002 to 2009 ) and A 209 ( 2003-2010 )
In May 2009, the model changes, the CLK Cabriolet, however, was up to the appearance of the convertible successor Mercedes -Benz A 207 in March 2010 was still available. 2010, there were in Germany, finally, 37 registrations of the model. The follow-up model of the C 209 carries the designation Mercedes -Benz C 207 and is again distributed as E-Class Coupé. Nevertheless, it is based as the previous large part to the C-Class.
