Meredith Mallory

Meredith Mallory ( born January 31, 1781 Watertown, Connecticut, † September 22, 1855 in Batavia, Illinois) was an American lawyer and politician. Between 1839 and 1841 he represented the State of New York in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Meredith Mallory was born during the War of Independence in Litchfield County. He attended community schools. In 1820 he was supervisor in the Town of Benton in Yates County. He then moved to Hammondsport in Steuben County. There had, and he ran a mill. He held several local offices. In 1835 he sat in the New York State Assembly. He was in 1838 working as a justice of the peace. Politically, he was a member of the Democratic Party.

In the congressional elections of 1838, for the 26th Congress Mallory was in the 27th electoral district of New York in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of John T. Andrews on March 4, 1839. He retired after the March 3, 1841 out of the Congress.

Mallory died on September 22, 1855 in Batavia and was then buried in the West Batavia Cemetery in Kane County.
