Mermaid Melody – Pichi Pichi Pitch!
Mermaid Melody - Pichi Pichi Pitch! (Japaneseぴちぴち ピッチ, Pichi Pichi Pitchi ) is a completed manga series Michiko Yokote the author and illustrator Pink Hanamori, which was also implemented as an anime series. She is assigned to the shōjo - genus and the Magical Girl Genre.
Action
Every mermaid princess is born with a pearl in the color of their fin. In this pearl is her pure voice, without which the mermaid can only terrible or not sing. Many years ago, the mermaid Luchia rescued the little boy Kaito who fell through a shipwreck in the sea. The ship capsized because of a storm that was summoned by Sara, the Orange Pearl Mermaid Princess. Luchia brought the boy ashore and saved his life with her pearl.
As Luchia is 13 years old, she is sent to the human world to find her pearl, because it can be no proper Mermaid Princess otherwise. Way, she meets Kaito, the boy she saved then. He still has its pearl. As Izuru Kaito wanted to pull Gaito, his evil twin brother, into the sea because he has Luchias pearl, he throws Luchia to the pearl and she can change. With the song Legend of Mermaid she sells Izuru Kaito saves and thus for the second time. Luchia fell even then in Kaito and Kaito in Luchias Meerjungfrauensein. However, Luchia must not say that it is the Mermaid ( Mermaid ), who saved him back then, because it would otherwise dissolve into sea foam it. Because of this, Luchia asks whether Kaito she really loves, or only as a mermaid. At the end of the first season are then Luchia and Kaito a couple.
Eventually he finds out, however, that Luchia is a mermaid, what frightens him, because they could turn into sea foam. But it does not and falls in love with Kaito Luchia. Gradually, they also applies to other mermaid princesses, first on Hanon and Lina and then later on Coco, Noelle, Noelle's twin sister Karen and Sara. Sara moved before the beginning of history on the side of Gaito. After she died, Seira is her successor.

Seira is the second Orange Mermaid Princess of the Indian Ocean, which should be actually born after Sara's death. Mikeru, an angel and the new enemy of the Mermaids, but their birth knows how to prevent to use their power for himself so that his powers grow and he wakes up properly. Luchia gets from Sara SEIRAS pearl and with it the duty to protect them and teach her what it means to love someone. Mikeru stores SEIRAS energy and always present when the Mermaids gain a victory over him, flies a spring with orange light in SEIRAS pearl. It appears Luchia more often than ' spirit ' if this just cries, has won a victory, or even, in Luchias dreams. At the end of the second season the other Mermaids have put together enough of SEIRAS stolen life energy so that they can be born. Once this is done, it turns and all seven Mermaids sing along with the song Aqua Regina ' Kibou no Kaneoto ' your two character songs are Beautiful Wish and Birth of Love '.

Pichi Pichi Pitch Mermaid Melody was released in Japan from 2002 to 2005 in separate chapters in the manga magazine Nakayoshi of the Kodansha publishing house. These individual chapters were also summarized in seven anthologies. In German the series of June 2005 is fully published until February 2006 when Heyne Verlag. Del Rey brought out an English, Kurokawa a French translation.
Anime series
The manga was from the studios Actas and Synergy Japan as anime series Mermaid Melody: Pichi Pichi Pitch implemented with two seasons and a total of 91 episodes. Directed by Yoshitaka Fujimoto and the character design designed Kazuaki Makida. The screenplay was written by Michiko Yokote. When Japanese broadcaster TV Aichi, the series was broadcast on 5 April 2003 to 25 December 2004. The second season was entitled Mermaid Melody: Pichi Pichi Pitch Pure.
The anime was translated into English, Korean, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Tagalog, and into Chinese.

In Japan, three developed by Konami video games appeared on the series for the Game Boy Advance console. In October 2003, initially appeared Pichi Pichi Pitch Mermaid Melody, Mermaid Melody Pichi followed in December Pichi Pitch Pichi Pichi Party in March 2004 and then Pichi Pichi Pitch Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichitto Live Start!
Reception
According to the Anime Encyclopedia, the humor of the series is partly predictable, but the pathos of other mermaid stories is to be found in this: A young girl can save the world with their singing or sacrifices herself for her love.
