Meta Brevoort

Claudia Margaret Brevoort, called Meta Brevoort (* 1825, † December 19, 1876 in Dorking, England), was an American mountaineer.

She spent her early years at Couvent Sacré Coeur in Paris. In the 60s and 70s of the 19th century you get some important and difficult climbs in the Alps. 1865 she stood on the summit of Mont Blanc. In 1871 it stood within a few days the first woman on the Dent Blanche, the White Horn, and the Bietschhorn. In 1874 it led from Wintererstbegehungen of the Wetterhorn and the Virgin.
