Michael Dekel

Michael Dekel (Hebrew מיכאל דקל, born August 1, 1920 in Pinsk, Poland, † September 20, 1994 in Israel) was an Israeli politician.

Life

Dekel served in World War II from 1943 to 1944 in the Red Army, and later from 1944 to 1946 in the Polish army. After the war he became head of Betar in an Austrian DP camp and was among the leaders of the Austrian branch of the Zionist organization Irgun. Dekel 1949 emigrated to Israel. In 1950 he lived in Nordia (Hebrew נוֹרְדִיָּה ) a settlement that was founded by former members of the Zionist organization Irgun Tzwa'i Le'umi. Later he became a member of the conservative Zionist party Herut, 1966 he became a member of the party leadership and Central Committee of Herut.

Policy

In the 10th legislature ( Knesset), dated 10 October 1983 to 13 September 1984 he was deputy agriculture minister in the 19th and 20th government. In the 11th legislature ( Knesset), December 3, 1985 - November 21, 1988 and in the 21 and 22 government, Dekel was deputy defense minister.
