Michael Dibdin

Michael Dibdin ( born March 21, 1947 in Wolverhampton, † March 30, 2007 in Seattle, United States) was an English crime writer and author. His works have been translated into numerous languages.

Life

Dibdin was in Northern Ireland and Scotland in the school, studied in England and Canada, and taught at the University of Perugia five years in English literature. Until his death he lived in Seattle, USA.

Works

Dibdin was known for his crime novels about Aurelio Zen, a born in Venice and living in Rome police commissioner. All eleven thrillers featuring the series heroes play in various Italian cities (Perugia, Rome, Venice, Naples, Bologna) or regions of Italy (Sardinia, Sicily, Piedmont, Tuscany, Alto Adige, Calabria ). You obtain a prevailing there, the social, political and criminal ( Camorra Mafia) environment.

Three thrillers have been filmed in a first season of the TV series Zen from a screenplay by Simon Burke: Vendetta, Cabal and Ratking. Rufus Sewell in the lead role embodies Aurelio Zen. The first broadcast of the films was carried out in 2011 by the BBC. The Second German Television (ZDF ), which was co-producer alongside the Italian Mediaset, the miniseries radiated from the beginning of January 2013.
