Michael Gergen

Michael Gergen (born 17 February 1987 in Hastings, Minnesota ) is an American professional ice hockey player who is since December 2010 for the Bakersfield Condors in the ECHL under contract.

Career

Michael Gergen first played from 2004 to 2005 for the ice hockey team of the St. Mary's Shattuck in the high school league system of the United States. His career as a hockey player put the Americans continued in the team of the University of Minnesota Duluth, where he was active from 2005 to 2009 in the National Collegiate Athletic Association. Previously, he had been selected as junior players in the NHL Entry Draft in 2005 in the second round than a total of 61 players from the Pittsburgh Penguins, for which, however, he never played. Instead, the attacker moved in summer 2009 to EC Red Bull Salzburg of the Austrian Hockey League, for whom he made ​​his debut in professional hockey in season 2009/10. At season's end Gergen won the Austrian championship with the people of Salzburg. In October 2010, he returned to his home and got a contract with the Utah Grizzlies in the ECHL. For this he came to 19 inserts and scored seven points before two months later his contract was dissolved. After the attacker has been committed by the Bakersfield Condors, for which he took part in January 2011 at the ECHL All-Star Game.
