Utah Grizzlies

The Utah Grizzlies are an American Hockey franchise from West Valley City, Utah, which plays in the ECHL since 2005. Their home games wear out the Grizzlies in the 10,100 -seat Maverik Center. The team is the ECHL farm team of the Anaheim Ducks of the National Hockey League and the Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League.

History

The Utah Grizzlies play since the season 2005/ 06 in the ECHL and reached seven times since the play-offs.

The current franchise was founded in 1988 under the name Virginia Lancers as a founding member of the ECHL, where it was located until 1993 in Vinton (Virginia), but since 1990, played with the name Roanoke Valley Rebels and in the last season as Roanoke Valley Rampage. In 1993 it was first relocated and played a game while in Huntsville (Alabama ) and Huntsville Blast before another move to Tallahassee (Florida ) was performed, where the team played until 2001 Tallahassee Tiger Sharks. Another season spent the team as Macon Whoopee in Macon (Georgia ) before it spent before the final relocation to West Valley for one season as Lexington Men O'War, Lexington (Kentucky).

Between 1995 and 2005, playing in Salt Lake City, a team of the same name, with up identical to the colors Team logo, from 1995 to 2001, first in the International Hockey League and after its resolution from 2001 to 2005 in the American Hockey League. This team was relocated to Cleveland ( Ohio), where they play since the 2007/08 season under the name of Lake Erie Monsters. Previously played with the Salt Lake Golden Eagles 1984-1994 already an ice hockey team from Salt Lake City in the IHL, as the Detroit Vipers continued to play in this league until the following resolution.
