Tallahassee Tiger Sharks

The Tallahassee Tiger Sharks were an American Hockey franchise from Tallahassee, Florida, who played in the East Coast Hockey League from 1994 to 2001. Their home games wearing the Tiger Sharks from the Leon County Civic Center.

History

The franchise was founded in 1994 as the successor of the team relocated to Tallahassee Huntsville Blast and took his game to operating in the East Coast Hockey League. The first head coach was Terry Christensen. In their first season the team for the play-offs qualified. In the first two rounds go by successes against Hampton Roads Admirals and Birmingham Bulls of the way into the semi-finals. In five games, the team was defeated narrowly to the Richmond Renegades and missed qualifying for the finals at the Riley Cup. In the following season the team managed with a record of 42 wins and 22 defeats a place in the final round in the regular season also featured 90 points earned a franchise record.

Again, the Tigers Sharks failed in the third round, this time in four games against the Charlotte Checkers. In the season 1996/97 for the third time in a row after qualifying for the play- offs. In contrast to the first two participations the team was already in the first lap on the track and lost in three games against the Pensacola Ice Pilots. Once in the following year the play-offs were first not reached, the current head coach Terry Christensen was replaced by Jeff Brubaker. As well as this missed the finals with the team, Brubaker was replaced after one year by his predecessor. Even in the last two years of the game franchises of collection was missed in the play-offs. Shortly after, the franchise was dissolved and to Macon, Georgia, resettled. As the successor team originated there the Macon Whoopee.
