Greenville Road Warriors

The Greenville Road Warriors are an American Hockey franchise from Greenville, South Carolina. It plays since the 2010/11 season in the ECHL. Cooperation in the National Hockey League is with the New York Rangers.

History

The Johnstown Chiefs in the ECHL during 2010 to Greenville, South Carolina, relocated and renamed the Greenville Road Warriors. The reason for the relocation was an annual loss of $ 100,000 and higher rental costs for the Cambria County War Memorial Arena. In the Greenville Road Warriors fill the gap that was created in 2006 by eliminating the Greenville Grrrowl. On 29 June 2010, the former professional hockey player and assistant coach of the Cincinnati Cyclones, Dean Stork, officially introduced as the first head coach of the franchise.
