Reading Royals

The Reading Royals are an American ice hockey team from Reading, Pennsylvania. The team plays in the ECHL since 2001.

History

The Columbus Chill of the East Coast Hockey League retired in the summer of 1999 from the active game mode back to make room for the newly formed Columbus Blue Jackets of the National Hockey League. After two years of inactivity, the franchise has been to Reading, Pennsylvania, relocated. The team then went to a collaboration with the Los Angeles Kings of the NHL and was in line with their names in Reading Royals renamed ( with the Manchester Monarchs and Ontario Reign also carry more farm teams of the Kings names that refer to the nobility ). After the end of cooperation with the Los Angeles Kings is Reading since 2008 partner of the Toronto Maple Leafs and since 2009 also of the Boston Bruins.

In the 2012/13 season, the team first won the Kelly Cup after it was defeated in the playoff final series, the Stockton Thunder in five games. Previously, the largest ever sporting success of the Reading Royals was reaching the third playoff round in the seasons 2003/ 04, have been in 2007/ 08 and 2009/10, in which she the Florida Everblades (2004) and Cincinnati Cyclones (2008 and 2010 ) documents.
