South Carolina Stingrays

The South Carolina Stingrays are an American ice hockey team from North Charleston, South Carolina, which currently plays in the ECHL. Since 2012, they are the farm team of the Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League. The home ground of the Stingrays is the North Charleston Coliseum, which at hockey games has a capacity of 10,568 people.

The team was founded in 1993 under the ownership of Marcel Dionne and sold shortly afterwards to a local investment group. As a result, the team was three times decide the championship, 1997, 2001 and 2009. They are the first team from the ECHL, which has succeeded in both preliminary round champion and subsequently win the Kelly Cup.
